    Review – Easy Safe Weight Loss Pilate’s Resistance Bands Exercise DVD Great for Women or Seniors

    Okay the actual DVD is called “Funcercise : Super Speed Weight Loss With Sunshine” but I couldn’t bring myself to put that in the title box of the post.

    When we first got our hands on a copy of this DVD we didn’t really have high hopes. I mean who calls them self “Sunshine” in their professional life? But Sunshine was attractive enough, and the DVD did come with 3 resistance bands (though not the greatest bands in the world) so we decided to give it a chance. Sometimes we are just good people like that.

    The focus of Funcercise (sigh) is weight loss and general fitness. By using the enclosed resistance bands to perform Pilate style exercises, the viewer can quickly start burning calories. Pilates is a great exercise program, much less scary than P90X for beginners, and is effective at weight loss. Pilates was the big fad program a few years ago, and even though P90X has come along and replaced it, the principles behind Pilates is still sound.

    The target audience for this DVD is definitely women though the enclosed workout on the DVD would be challenging for men as well. The packaging says that the DVD is great for Women AND Brides, reminding us all that men cannot be brides unless you forgot. The color scheme of the DVD box screams “flea market bargain bin” which is a shame because the actual product is VERY GOOD.

    25 different exercises are demonstrated by Sunshine on the Funcercise DVD, enough to give your whole body a decent workout. Like I said, this is a weight loss focused product so there is less attention to building muscle bulk. The intent is to provide a fun 30 minute workout that can be performed anywhere and just about any time thanks to the use of resistance bands. While targeted at women, men could benefit from this DVD just as well, just hide it behind your copy of “Out to Kill” where your friends can’t see it when you are not using it.

    You get 3 resistance bands plus the Funcercise DVD. 3 individual resistance bands would probably cost you around $18-20 so the DVD is actually pretty cheap when you look at it from that standpoint. Sunshine is actually a pretty good demonstrator of the exercises, though you will need some practice switching quickly between the various workouts that she shows you, just like with any resistance band routine.

    So if you are looking for a product to help you lose weight, includes good instructions, and has the resistance bands included then the Funcercise Easy Safe Weight Loss Pilate’s Resistance Bands Exercise DVD is an excellent bargain. If you are going for total strength training or wanting to focus more on your core or other parts of your body then you might want to look into other products.
